Rifle Slings

7/2/2010 9:07:10 PM WOW! 60″, I didn’t know they made them that long. Frank hipwr223 [Moderator] 7/2/2010 9:11:54 PM I am 5’9″ and I shoot a 50 inch rifle sling with the AR15 and always have about 5 holes left on the tail. W_E_G 7/3/2010 4:48:41 PM I really like the leather service rifle rifle slings. I used one for 15 years – but had to replace it fairly often. Leather dries out, the holes get enlarged from repeatedly putting a lot of tension on the same set of holes. If you use one in the rain, it will probably be ruined. I’ve ruined two rifle slings that way. I recently switched to the newfangled “biothane” synthetic 54″ sling. I’m sure it is impervious to moisture. I’ve had it to the range about a half-dozen times this season, and so far, it is serving me well. The keepers are a little “grabby” (i.e. don’t slide easily) unless you zap it with silicone spray. Then they move slick as snail-snot, but still stay in place quite well. I think the thing I like most about this rifle sling is the ease of adjusting the pinch-point on my left arm. The biothane rifle sling is way easier to adjust this element than leather, yet the rifle sling stays in position quite well on my cordura Creedmoor shooting coat. $64.45 shipped from Sinclair http://www.sinclairintl.com/.aspx/sid=69659/pid=36723/sku/Turner_National_Match_54___Sling___black_Biothane?utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&mc_id=8000 458winmag 7/3/2010 9:12:46 PM I’m on the other end of the scale. Use a Fields leather rifle sling on all my rifles and it does rain here. I use NIKWAX for a coating. Thinking about trying a Bio-thane just because it looks interesting 458 http://www.championshooters.com/slings-ssl.htmI’m getting ready to order a rifle sling for my incoming 90. The type I’m liking has the strap that goes through the thumb hole. I like the Urban-ERT hybrid single/double mount. And kind of like the one on ebay by ” vestguy ” . Anybody have either of these rifle slings ? Anyone have another sugestion ? Thanks. BIGGERGUNS

Eotech

7/8/2008 8:35:40 PM This post just made me look at mine. Mine is the 552.a65 and it has never seen range time. I picked it up with I had Denny build me a rifle. The thing would not sit flush and center on a Colt upper but worked with LaRue riser. Now the batteries are

Aimpoint

6/7/2010 12:25:39 AM EDT For me I like the ACOG for most uses because my fucked up eyes make Aimpoints look like shit. My Bushmaster with 1.5X ACOG is my favorite AR-15, number two is my Rock River with TA01-NSN. After I get my Lasix, I’ll get back to you Paddlefoot64

Tapco

3/22/2012 12:06:39 AM Twizter68: Looking to see which is better for a 10 and 20 round mag. New to AK-47 Accessories‘s, so I’m shooting in the dark on this…I have a Romy AK-47 Accessories. Between Promag and tapco for range mags I’ll take tapco. My tapco mags have been perfect range mags. abc123omg
