Indianapolis: Councilor wants guns permitted in city parks
A proposal to allow guns in Indianapolis parks will go before the City County Council Monday, a measure its sponsor admits will be controversial. Current law bans weapons in city parks, but they are permitted in state parks and will soon be allowed in national parks, 6News’ Joanna Massee reported.

Arizona: Push is on to liberalize gun laws
This year, the state’s Republican governor and a conservative Legislature may continue that tradition by giving Arizonans some of the least restrictive weapons laws in the nation. Sig sauer magazines

I’m not real happy right now. I literally just walked in the door from the range. Out of 102 rounds I fired with my new Sig sauer magazines I had 96 failures to extract.

I was shooting S&B and my carry load. Both had FTEx. The pistol was also dropping the brass from the last round in a magazine and leaving the brass resting on top of the empty mag.

Pistol was cleaned and lubed before heading out. I soaked the extractor in CLP at the range and cleaned it there. That didn’t make any difference in the frequency of FTEx.

This is a real disappointment for me. I really, really like the way the P250 feels and points. The trigger was fine and for the 6 times the pistol actually functioned as a auto-loader follow-up shots seemed to be fast. I was hoping that this was going to be my new carry pistol, but that isn’t going to happen until it’s fixed.

Obviously, I’ll be calling Sig sauer magazine tomorrow and sending it back to them for repair/replacement.

Beretta Magazines

Shoot normal ammo & change the Beretta Magazine spring every couple thousand rounds or so & this gun will be shot by your grand-kids with the same accuracy as you get now."

Very sage advise. Couldn’t have said it better myself. The Beretta Magazines 92 is NOT a delicate, dainty firearm. They work and work well, period.

Plus - magazines are cheaper, and recently flooded the EE. Parts are pretty easy to find. Since it’s not uber-tacticooool like it was in the late 80s, used ones are really reasonable.

My spare parts kit for my Beretta Magazines are, trigger return springs, mainsprings, recoil springs, a locking block, spare barrel, a couple of grip screws and grip panels. I’ve only had to replace one trigger spring, and that was after shooting ~1200 rounds Egyptian SMG/FMJ ammo through it at after 5500 rounds.

I read this article about the reliability back when it was published

AR-15 Magazines

For all .223 cal. AR-15 Magazines and M16 rifles. How does it feel to rip off 90 rounds? It feels pretty good. And there’s no better way to do it than with this high-quality, U.S.A. made Snail Drum Mag. High-strength polymer construction for long-lasting use. Clear back indicates how many rounds you have left. Comes with a ar-15 mag loader for single rounds or 10-rd. stripper clips, plus a handful of stripper clips.

Colt 1903 magazine

Your post shows a complete lack of knowledge with respect to the subject at hand A Colt is an entirely different animal from a semi-custom (which you seem to acknowledge) and other than for an intended application, there is no fair basis of comparison between the two. The semi custom is a superior package in every way, including features, workmanship, fit, finish, and service. Colt 1903 magazines OTOH makes a production pistol which is in an entirely different class, competing with the likes of Kimber, Springfield, Para, etc.

North of $1,000? that’s like saying that Minnesota is miles north of Texas. If you can find a semi custom USED for $1,000, let me know and I’ll be on it like a fly circling over your post. As for investing $300 more in a Colt and it will ? no different than that of a Wilson or Baer… I don’t know what word(s) you ommitted in your post, but you cannot dress up a Colt with $300 and expect a fair basis of comparison with a semi custom. A couple of years back, Yost-Bonitz did a package to modify a Colt (or SA) at or beyond the level of your basic semi custom. The price of the work was about 1,000 for their entry package. Adding the price of the donor Colt 1903 magazine, you have a pistol that meets/exceeds a semi custom for the price that meets/exceeds the pricepoint of a semi custom. Colts are excellent platforms for customization and the potential is only limited by the artisan who works it, but the factory Colt is no bargain substitute for what you get in the other classes of pistols.

As to the OP, I can understand your reason for selecting a Colt 1903 magazines, and your sentiments are shared by thousands who insist on Colt for their production AND their custom needs. There is no denying the heritage, and that commands a niche market others cannot touch. Like others have said, the Gold Cup was made for target shooting, and I think that would be your best bet. I would look into the Talo if you have the money

AR-15 Accessories

I’m completely and absolutely new to the AR-15 model rifle, and I only own a German K98k.

I’m looking into getting once of these magnificent firearms, but I have no idea as to where to start, can you help a clueless newbie?

I’m trying to get one before the price goes up anymore that they already have, but I’m not looking to spend a ton.

thanks in advance.

That being said, I have a midlength gas system on my 6.8 AR15 accessories SPR.

Trijicon

Other than that - I’m very thankful Trijicon made this scope. It’s a perfect blend of precision and speed. It’s eye relief, size, and FOV make for a fast & compact general purpose optic. For 10-300 yard shooting, this is in my opinion, the perfect ACOG. For shooting under 10 yards, it seems like it’d serve me well - I may toss some Bulter Creek Flip Caps on this one for an occluded option since the construction will allow for it! Trijicon, the caps will make the ACOG Scope Coat a thing of the past.

Something always kept me from hanging onto an ACOG. I feel the TA33R8 was made just for me!

If you’re looking for an ACOG - don’t overlook this guy. It is in my opinion the ultimate 10-300 yard SHTF ACOG for a 14.5"- 16" AR15. It’s truly an amazing piece of glass.

Pistol Holsters

Actually wraping the pistol Blackhawk Holster in a plastic bag and wetting down the inside of the holster does work. Keep the pistol in the Safariland Holsters till it dries. I took a very well made Pocket Holster made for High Power fit a 1911 Commander like a glove.

I just bought a Galco Cop Slide and the leather is pretty stiff and it is hard to pull out the weapon. What is a good way to break in the Pistol Magazines?

miltsparks recommends the plastic around the Pistol Holsters method (no water). it worked with my Safariland Holster––it’s just enough to loosen new leather.

ankle holster

Dead…. personally, I see no need to spend that kind of money nor wait that long for a ankle holster.

There’s nothing the least bit subpar about the leather shoulder holster in my use; I LOVE it. And the $25 price! And the immediate availability!

The BareAsset does exactly what I want it to do and I am "barely" safariland tactical holsters that I’m even carrying…. which is the main complaint I have with so many Bianchi Shoulder holsters that feel like you’re wearing some sort of a heavily built orthopedic device or something. At $25 and immediate shipping, the BareAsset holds my gun at a nice cant, just behind my ankle holsters, securely, comfortably, and effectively. I’m a very happy camper with them!

Tactical holsters

I just purchased a new Fobus HK1 for my new USPc. Fobus has done some improvements; this new holster is more substantial than my old one, yet is just as light and Tactical holsters.

If you’ve tried a Fobus and didn’t like it, then fair enough. But if you’re simply parroting what you’re read here and elsewhere, do us all a favor and don’t pontificate on a topic of which you have no personal knowledge.

There is obviously something wrong with me, because from what I saw in the video looked as if

it took Two men, the fat one doing the most work, to break the holster.

If someone is trying to get your Pistol Magazines, the first reaction would not be to try and push Tactical holsters

gun clear off of your body, and I understand that you guys think that this man was trying to leather shoulder holster

his gun in his holster, but the bad guy isn’t going to be able to break it off like that unless

you help him.

The fatass in the video probably never wore a revolver holsters before and shouldn’t anymore unless

the rest of you would feel safe letting him help bad guys steal guns from him.

Duh. Get a clue and look closer.

Rifle Stocks

The stock itself has fixed sights which are adjustable for windage and elevation. The windage is done with the rear sight and the elevation is done with the front sight. The stock also comes equipped with a scope mount which attaches in the Rifle Stocks .

Construction is of fiberglass reinforced plastic and fits stander barrels and heavyweight barrels (with minor modifications).

AR15 Sight

Twenty-inch barrels are a bit long, and don’t offer the performance increase over a 16″ ar15 barrel to justify their length and additional weight. Anything above 20″ detracts from the rifle’s “all purpose” use, and is for more specialized AR15 Sight.

AR-15 Gun Supplies

Ok, lets cover the necessary tools. What you need:

Since this procedure requires removal of the barrel/barrel nut, you will need many of the same tools as listed in the Step by step guide to building a complete upper, above.

See the above post… but to sum it up, you will need a good action block, armorers AR-15, 1/16″ punch, snap ring pliers, moly-grease, and a vise.

You will also need a couple punches. You just need a good sized (1/4″) soft brass punch and a steel 1/8″ punch.

(allen wrench and blue loctite supplied with tube!)

That’s it for tools! Now here are the step-by-step instructions:

1. Remove the upper from the rifle. Remove the handguards. Remove the muzzle device. Remove the front sight base. Unscrew the factory barrel nut and remove the nut, and delta ring assembly (we wont be needing these)

To mount a LaRue tube, the “keeper” (anti-roll device) plate will interfere with the action block I was using. It required I take a dremel and cut out a notch to accomodate this. I am not sure if it was required…. I cannot tell if this can be slipped in after the fact…. YMMV.

Infrared

The infrared portion of the spectrum has a number of technological uses, including target acquisition and tracking by the military; remote temperature sensing; short-ranged wireless communication; spectroscopy, and weather forecasting. Telescopes equipped with infrared sensors are used in Infrared to penetrate dusty regions of space, such as molecular clouds; detect low temperature objects such as planets orbiting distant stars, and to view highly red-shifted objects from the early history of the universe.[2]

At the atomic level, infrared energy elicits vibrational modes in a Infrared through a change in the dipole moment, making it a useful frequency range for study of these energy states. Infrared spectroscopy is the examination of absorption and transmission of photons in the infrared energy range, based on their frequency and intensity.[3]
